Two multifunction remote controls with hands-free recognition

The MAX 5.0 comes with two Talismano 5 multifunction remote controls. Each contains a transponder that enables the control unit to recognise the authorised rider automatically.

This provides two complementary operating modes:

• Hands-free operation: the alarm automatically recognises the remote control without requiring a button press.
• Manual controls: the buttons remain available to control arming, disarming and other programmed functions directly.

In everyday use:

• As the rider approaches: the control unit recognises the integrated transponder and automatically disarms the protection.
• When the rider moves away: the alarm automatically rearms.
• Whenever required: the buttons can be used to operate the system manually.
• While wearing gloves: hands-free recognition avoids the need to handle the remote control each time.

Depending on the selected configuration, the remote controls can provide manual arming and disarming, system-status checking, panic mode and access to functions programmed during installation.

MAX 5.0 does not replace manual controls with hands-free recognition: both options are combined in each remote control.

Dual engine immobilisation and sabotage protection

MAX 5.0 is designed to maintain a high level of protection even when someone attempts to interfere with the system’s power supply or radio communications.

• Dual engine immobilisation: two separate circuits required for engine operation can be disabled, subject to the vehicle and wiring harness used.
• 118 dB self-powered siren: the audible warning remains active if the main power supply is disconnected.
• Internal backup battery: maintains operation if the motorcycle battery is disconnected.
• Anti Jammer: detects attempts to disrupt or jam radio communications.
• Customisable emergency code: emergency disarming procedure if a remote control is lost or fails.
• Alarm memory: indicates that the alarm was triggered while the owner was away.
• Automatic rearming: reactivates protection to reduce the risk of the alarm being left disarmed.

Automatic anti-hijacking function*

The Patrolline MAX 5.0 includes an automatic anti-hijacking function based on recognition of the transponder carried by the authorised rider.

If this recognition is lost after the vehicle has been taken, the system starts a progressive procedure. It first issues repeated warnings, followed by intermittent engine cut-outs intended to discourage continued riding until the vehicle comes to a stop.

This function uses the engine-immobilisation circuits provided during installation. Its availability and operation depend on the vehicle, the wiring harness used and the selected configuration.

Shock, lifting and towing detection

MAX 5.0 monitors your motorcycle or scooter while parked and reacts to the main types of handling associated with attempted theft or damage.

• Shock detection: monitors impacts, abnormal handling and attempted break-ins.
• Tilt detection: triggers the alarm when the vehicle’s position changes abnormally.
• Lifting detection: protects against loading or moving the motorcycle.
• Towing detection: reacts to abnormal movement while the system is armed.
• Adjustable sensitivity: adapts detection to the vehicle and its surroundings.

When triggered, the 118 dB self-powered siren sounds and the indicators provide a visual warning.

An AI2 / VV2 approved motorcycle alarm for insurance requirements

An insurance company may require an alarm and immobiliser before granting or maintaining theft cover. MAX 5.0 includes the principal functions generally requested for this purpose:

• automatic rearming;
• dual engine immobilisation, subject to vehicle configuration;

• secure disarming independent of the mechanical part of the ignition key;

Inspection and certificate for your insurance company

With the 5.0-DIY + Compliance option, TecnoGlobe checks the installation, connections, engine immobilisation circuits and alarm operation at our Viesville workshop.

The inspection includes the remote controls, hands-free recognition, rearming when moving away, siren, indicators, immobilisation circuits and the control unit’s various sensors.

If the installation complies with the manufacturer’s instructions and applicable criteria, a certificate for the insurance company is issued.

MAX 5.0 approval does not automatically make a customer-installed system compliant. A certificate is issued only after inspection and provided the installation is compliant.

Plug & Play harness: install without altering the original wiring

Where a compatible reference exists, the Plug & Play wiring harness connects directly to the motorcycle’s original connectors. It simplifies DIY installation and provides clean connections for the alarm’s main functions, including the immobilisation circuits supported by the harness.

• No cutting of the main harness: the original wiring is neither cut nor stripped.
• No splicing or soldering: dedicated connectors reduce the risk of poor contacts and corrosion.
• Respects onboard electronics: the connection takes transponder keys, CAN Bus and vehicle control units into account.
• Reversible installation: the equipment can be removed cleanly without leaving modifications to the manufacturer’s wiring.
• Manufacturer’s warranty preserved: retaining the original wiring integrity facilitates future diagnostics and dealer servicing.

Optional perimeter and intrusion protection

MAX 5.0 can accommodate up to 24 compatible wireless modules, protecting more than the motorcycle itself. Depending on the module and installation, this extension can monitor a top box, panniers, compartments, a garage or lock-up door, another protected access point, a trailer or nearby equipment.

When a sensor detects opening or intrusion, it sends the information to the motorcycle alarm control unit and triggers the warning.
